Hey guys, been restoring/modding the pac i bought that was a converted to pinball action. Monitor seemed to work fine previously, though i didn't play much pinball, probably like 2 minutes worth.

Most of it is done and works, sort of.

I think i may have messed up the wiring to the monitor from the jamma harness.

here is the harness i used:

The picture doesn't seem to display all colors correctly. Some games like pacman are pretty decent, but others seem like greens are missing, the game list grid is a mess.
I rewired the monitor based on pics of the the pinball action harness and pcb (not sure if it was jamma, traded the whole thing to get pacman parts).
So that should explain how and why i connected it the way i did, right or wrong, that's what i did, so....

Figured i'd ask instead of guessing twice. Did many searches for it, problem being, seems to bring up too many similar topics.

Here's my connections:
Jamma-monitor
White to Orange/black
Black to Yellow/black
Blue to Green
Red to Red
Green to White/Brown (think it was white, but it is kinda yellow maybe from age).

Before any of you purists have a meltdown, this cab was a mess, stripped it, painted, new molding, got a used original bezel and marquee, restored the control panel. It's more a pacman now than it has been in a long time.

Thanks for any help.
Joe

Ok figured it out.
I had them correct, rgb ground sync.

Had the ms. play some games while i screwed with the dials on the monitor, kinda like going to the eye doctor, better or worse (over and over) until i got it pretty good.

Other thing i realized, the menu screen on the 60 in 1, just isn't that nice to begin with, lol.

Only thing is there is a slight wave in the picture, pretty minor, she didn't even notice, but i can see it on games such as pacman where where are alot of long horizontal patterns.
No biggie though.

Now i just need to organize the mess i made of the wires.

Ok, any pics of what that looks like on my monitor?
This is my first time messing with the monitor itself.
It's the thick black coil of wire going around the outside edge of the picture tube. Two pin connector to the chassis.

Out of curiosity, what is the theory behind disconnecting it?
If the degauss thermistor is faulty and partially on, and the coil is still getting power after the monitor is on, it's creating a magnetic field the whole time and causing the picture to shake. It can't hurt to try disconnecting it, but I seriously doubt it's your problem, if it's just a "real slight wave".
