Hi all,

I picked up a Multi-Pac kit and attempted an install on a working Ms Pac board. I hooked it up and it wouldn't work; sprite errors out the wazoo. Okay, that's fine. I tried reseating everything a few times but to no avail. I gave up and tried to put my old chips back... and then it wouldn't boot up. At first it showed a gray screen on the monitor, after about 3-4 attempts of reseating and trying to get the roms back in the proper place, it shows nothing on the monitor now. Is it possible for me to have done damage to other parts of the board, or is it just the components that I was unseating/reseating that have been damaged? Any way to tell? Let me know. Thanks.

Sometimes on Ms Pacs it can be as simple as the edge connector. Make sure its seated firmly. Also..you can take a pencil eraser and go over the traces on the board to make sure they are clean for good contact. Also..yes you could have fried a chip by plugging it in backwards when you tried to put it back to original.

You fried the chips on the Sync Buss card. You either need to replace them or buy a new card. You can get them from Mikesarcade.com

Kewl... didn't know you carried those. :)

I only made these because it cost me less to make them than to buy from the 2 or 3 other people who make them. I have around 70-80 pac boards and only around 20 original cards left. Im not sure if I will ever do the vram cards but its a possibility.
