Id say no, you didnt get your $25.00 worth. Its gutted. If it had the monitors in it, then you would have a great deal, but to only get half of a cabinet and none of the parts in the half that you did get, then i say that you actually got screwed. Most people and i think saying about 99% is pretty fair, would have to pay someone to haul off half the cab.

If it was the whole cabinet, and you were a big xmen fan, then it would be a fair deal. If the monitors were in the cab, it would be a great deal.

Not trying to sound like an ass, just being honest

I'm forced to agree on this one. As cool as the game was and being a big, BIG fan of the 6-player game, You should have been given this bulky thing for free. No doubt you'll be able to find some interesting use for it to get your $25 worth out of it, but still....it should have been a freebie.

Some guy just closed down his arcade pretty local to me, and the only thing he couldn't fit in his moving trucks was the big-ass monitor box. So he kept the monitors, the guts, and the control panel stand, but left behind the same box that you have sitting there for anyone to have for free. No takers.

Don't get me wrong, I love X-men stuff, and I appreciate the arts, but if it were me, I'd have just bought 25 older comics outta the dollar bin at the comic shop.

Please do something cool with this item though! I hate to see one going to the dump.

i was playing around with the idea of rebuilding the control panel and seperating the screens making it into 2 games. leave it xmen based one xmen game per side.... make the monitor face people and take the mirror things out. i have enough comics already...... i have the plans for the CP so i could remake it..

Cool idea. Although I could for see difficulty mounting decent sized monitors in there if you don't end up using the mirrors.

No, not a good deal there, sorry. You ended up with a couple of transformers, some wiring and some 20 year old wood. Unfortunately, not a good deal. As previously mentioned, if it was the whole thing and had the monitors in it, then, yeah, that would have been a good deal.

...and to be fair, even though I think this should have been a freebie.....

at the very least, even if you burn the cabinet, you ended up with a real nice, hard to find, full length x-men marquee which can be hung on your gameroom wall.

I think it more depends on if you feel it's a good deal and what you will make of it. I don't care for that game but there have been scenarios where I would have paid that much or more for an empty cab from a game that no one but me cares for.

I'm probably one of the forum members who's craziest about this game, but I'd agree with what's been said for the most part. For $25 you at least have some isolation transformers and some wiring and the marquee. It would be really cool if you can do something with it. It makes you wonder what happened to the control panel section. I'm honestly starting to think it's going to be harder and harder to find complete or semi-complete 6 player X-Men cabs. I've seen at least 1 parted out recently, plus the cabinet half that you bought and even the one gozer mentioned. *runs to hug his machine*

To answer your question you have to ask yourself if you would buy it again. If you say yes then you got your money's worth. Otherwise you wasted $25 that could have been spent on cap kits.

You may want to keep an eye on this thread over at BYOAC. The members there have done a lot of work in scanning various artwork on the cabinet, including the sides of the control panel section. The front part of it is very similar to the kit side art.

I have a 6-player X-Men, and it was one of my grails! The CPO is trashed on it, and it's been sitting separated for at about 3 years now (sad, I know). While I don't have a spare panel, you could get the dimensions from mine if you plan on building a new control section.

Are you kidding?

Is this the great deal you got from garbagearcade? You know the one you keep mentioning after someone calls him out for scamming them? Great deal there man.. I'd be thrilled to sell you half a gutted cab for $25... Hahaha

Awsome.. I think I just pee'd myself..

Yup, i did a little..

:)
