Really it's not that big of a deal, and I hate ebay as much as the next guy. You shouldn't have the option of buying an item and not paying... period.
If you have any questions or want to talk to the seller, you should do that before the listing ends. If you think it's a scam or something, decide all that shit before you press the 'buy it now' button.
