I am new to the arcade conversion world, and i want more games, but need help on deciding what to do. I have a Dig Dug machine, and was wondering if i can get other PCB's that will hook up maybe via that 6-1 jamma set up , or would that mess things up with it. Or should a person just jump into building a mame system?

If you have a Namco Dig Dug PCB, you can buy a Dig Dug to JAMMA adapter. If you have an Atari Dig Dug PCB, there isn't one available unless you get someone to build you one.

There are plenty of generic cheap games that pop up from time to time (I hooked up a friend with two free ones recently). Get one of those and convert it. Don't MAME a Dig Dug. Worst case - find someone who will trade you a JAMMA cab for it...

Make a JAMMA->Dig Dug adapter
Make a Dig Dug->JAMMA adapter

Plug Dig Dug PCB into DD->J adapter. Plug that into 6 in 1. Plug 6 in 1 into J->DD adapter and then adapter into your DD harness.

Then plug any other JAMMA boards (or non-JAMMA with conversion harnesses) into the 6 in 1.

There are other ways you can make it happen, but that is what I would do.

.

Mikes Arcade carries jamma adapters for both boards.
I have the Atari DD with adapter in my DK cab.

Careful... Mikesarcade carries adapters which allow you plug a Dig Dug PCB into a JAMMA cabinet. This is not what the OP wishes to do (by my understanding). He instead wants to plug JAMMA boards into his Dig Dug cabinet (harness). Mikesarcade (nor anywhere else I've seen) sells adapters to do that.

I built myself an adapter to plug (Namco) Galaga into my (Atari) Dig Dug cabinet. It would not be much more difficult to build one to allow a JAMMA PCB to plug into a Dig Dug cabinet. Bob Roberts sells "kits" which include the fingerboard, edge connector, and some wire. After that, it's up to you to carefully understand the pinouts and make the proper connections from one side of the adapter to the other.

Don't forget that it'll be quite limited as to which JAMMA games will work (well) in a Dig Dug cabinet: vertical standard res video, 1 joystick & 1 button.

If the OP is in North America, odds are quite high that it's an Atari PCB (not the Namco version).

Those adapters can be used if the OP wants to use Major Havok's suggestion.
The Dig Dug to Jamma adapters are available for both boards. The Jamma to Dig Dug would have to be made.
It was stated that they only available for the Namco boards only.

Ok, stupid question, OP , whats that stand for?

ok, thanks for all the input, sounds like its more trouble then what its worth. Mikes Aracade says there is not a way to get what i was looking at do, so i will stick with finding a empty cab and going from there , thanks again !

I dunno, Did Dug?

Who is this Dug character, and why would he Did a Jamma?

Is this some kind of hippie drug reference.....?;)
