I know who got it. Come on man....post up your story!
Ok, I guess I'll fess up - I got the $20 Star Wars in Hanford Saturday morning! It actually cost me $40, but more on that later...
So I get up early Saturday morning to walk our dog before the heat rolls in. I get back home around 6:20, and decide to check craigslist (manually, since my notification apps aren't working anymore). I saw the listing for the yard sale, at first I thought it was a joke, but they had a pic, so I immediately thought that someone had probably seen the posting the night before and sent them an email offer of $100 or more. The yard sale was scheduled for 7 am, and it was now pushing 6:30, but I had to try... I printed out a quick Google map, threw the hand truck in the back of my truck and took off. All I could think about was how great it would be if it was still there, and what if it had an AMP, and it's probably going to be missing the boards, and on and on. After a 25 minute drive, I pulled up and sure enough, there it was in the driveway! The Cabal (in a converted Centipede cab with painted sides) was right next to it. There were several people looking at the other items they had, but no one looking at the games, and no "sold" signs on them. I made a beeline for the SW - once I got up to it, I could tell it was a bit beat up, but not horrible. I asked if if was still up for sale for $20, and I almost shit myself when the dude said yes! I tried not to be too excited as I popped the back door off... damn, it's a WG6100. It was filthy inside, but looked complete and un hacked. I asked it it worked, and the guy said "yeah, it used to but the tube went out". He said the Cabal worked, and it did because he brought out an extension cord and plugged it in. Needless to say, I whipped out $20 and rushed to my truck to grab the dolly. I just wanted to get it loaded and out of there, as I was sure that someone else would be there any second trying to offer more money for it! The guy cleared a path down his driveway, but in my haste I bumped into a ceramic planter that he had for sale, knocking it over and shattering it. I felt like an ass. The seller said not to worry about it, but I gave him another $20 to cover it, hence the $40 total, lol. I probably should have gotten the Cabal, too (could have flipped it fairly easily I think) but I only had room for one cab.
I was home and unloaded by 7:40, and had a chance to really look over the cab - it was filthy and had what looked like bird crap all over the cab. The coin door was beat, and it had no leg levelers. The bottom had some water damage, and the front panel was seperating from the sides near the bottom. The side art isn't bad, it's just faded - the red colors are almost all gone. The marquee is severely cracked at the bends, but the cpo is pretty nice still. There was trash in the bottom of the cab, and one of the fuses in the power brick was wrapped with foil. I mixed some Simple Green in a bucket of hot water and spent some time cleaning the cab. The stuff I though was bird droppings was something else, because it came right off. It was a white, pastey substance. Whatever it was, it's gone now.
I replaced the "cheater" fuse in the power brick and checked all the others. Then I checked the fuses on the monitor, and both the F700 & F701 where blown. I replaced them, sure that they would blow again as soon as I powered it up... I removed the pcb set and fired up the cab - the spot killer came on, but at least the fuses didn't blow right away! I checked the voltages on the AR and everything looked okay, so I decided to throw the boards in and see what happens. Nothing. No sound, no video (spot killer was still on). The leds on the board were on, just nothing happening. I flipped the test switch on a few times, still nothing. After sitting powered on for a few minutes, the screen flickered, then came to life! What the hell, I couldn't believe that the pcb AND the monitor were working! Still no sound though. It was on free play, so I tried to play a game, but the vectors would get all weird after a few seconds. I pulled the boardset out and reseatted/cleaned all the socketed chips, and cleaned the edge connectors. Upon powerup I hear Obi Wan, and the image is perfect! I played several games, everything seems to work except for the triggers on the right yoke handle. I'll need to tear the yoke apart and check it out. Wow am I stoked! I guess I should have bought a lottery ticket on Saturday, lol. The thing that sucks is I just sold an over/under coin door that was in great shape that would have fit this cab fine, to replace the beat pile that's on there now.
I know, I know, pics or it didn't happen -
Here's a shot pre-Simple Green:

Not bad for $20 (or even $40).
