Your wrist will kill you eventually swing that thing around all afternoon. Go with what some of the other posters have mentioned. You can get a Fisher F4 or an F5 for that kind of bank. I'm sure others will chime in as well. White's brand are nice too!

Agreed. When the original 5900/6000 series came out in the early 80's I hunted with them exclusively. However....just like Jim said....they are an arm/wrist buster! I only hunted after converting them with a hip mount kit. After that they were a great machine for their day.
$400 these days can get you an excellent starter machine with tons of goodies ready to go....
