I swapped out the entire inside from my World Series-the season (in a taito cab) with another taito cab that had a jamma harness spliced in for Double Dribble.

I was cautious to take my time and hook everything back up the same way. When i first powered on, i got the game displayed with no issues. I put a few credits on and no sound - fixed the bad ground by tightening the loose nut.

then for some reason i didnt think i had the unlabeled connecter in the right spot (J5), so put it on J3.. powered up and then got a scrambled screen. put it back on J5 and i still get a scrambled screen until i coin up.

then when i coin up, i hear a loud buzzing coming from the speaker. it cycles - meaning that it gets louder until about 6 credits and then starts out low again.

finally (and this is the one that really pisses me off).. non of my controls are working. the way that the control panel is on the taito control panel, all of the nuts are in the wood flush and then they cut the bolts, now leaving me with spinning bolts if i try to loosen them (and not much room to grab the head).

does anyone have a manual or schematic? i am putting this up for sale for $150, but need it to work - unless a klover wants to take it for $100 as-is..

well, i spent a little more time in the garage. per the notations on the harness, all of my connections are correct. I have removed and reseated all of the socketed chips with no luck.

however, I figured out that if i hold down the coin switch, i can play a game. i believe my connectors are hooked up correctly (using the world series pinout for a rough comparison), but i cannot figure it out.

anyone have the schematics maybe somehow i crossed a wire even though i marked them?

I PM'd you back, but I figured I'd post here too... I have a manual/schematic, though I don't have a way to scan the whole thing. I can scan a few pages if you let me know what sections would be useful.

Fixed!

Well, thanks to the help of DogP and providing scans from the manual, i FINALLY figured it out.

all of my harness wires were correct on the board, but by the freakiest chances, I found that when i put the coin door wires on the switch, i put them on the Normally Closed terminal rather than the Normally Open (which the schematic specified).

because of this mis-wiring, it caused the screen to not boot up correctly until a credit was added. I also had a humming sound. and then finally i would have to hold the credit switch down to play a game.

Now, all is well and time to post the game on craigslist for sale.

I hate when I do stuff like that! Good to hear you got it working, good luck w/ the sale.
