Came back last weekend from a trip to northern Indy to pick up a game that I let get out of my collection in a previous life, NARC. Bought off Craigslist, the pics looked ok and the price matched $250. I drove two and a half hours up north (from Louisville) with my normal moving buddy. Garmin gives us about two minutes before we get to our destination. We pull into a mobile home park with rusty roofs, pitbulls, and every other stereotype you can imagine. Luckily for me, my moving buddy is a NCAA Div 2 wrestler. We get to our address and the place is a wreck. I'm thinking, Shit we just wasted gas/time/etc. We knock on the door and are welcomed in by nice people who's interior matches the exterior. They take my buddy and I to the back of their mobile home to find the mintiest of games I have ever seen. Their entire place was a shithole, but the Narc was pristine. I could not even see a smudge on the base of the game. As I sit in amazement, the guy hands me a manilla envelope labeled Williams that has all the sales info from the dealer, warranty cards, and all applicable info about the game. All of it looks like it was just printed. I gave the guy $300 and told him thanks for a great deal. Any other stories about a trip that seems doomed, but turns out amazing? Btw, pics of the NARC to follow tomorrow as I am drinking heavily tonight to celebrate my mother in laws benign cancer results.
