Desperately need help with NFL BLITZ 2000- The woes continue

SIGH..........

Regular NFL blitz 2000 cabinet..was working fine. The it just stopped booting the 2000 game. I figured it was the hard drive. Bought a 99' board set, popped it in and noticed the power supply light was not on, and there was no power to the 99' board set. Put in a good power supply, light comes on, game boots but the sreen was doing double visions and choppy crap. the more it was on the better it seemed to get but then stopped getting better...

Then the screen goes blank. power supply light goes out. Nothing. Try yet another power supply (a questionable one) It starts smoking 99' board, blew a chip right out in the center of the gameboard)

What the hell is happening to this game? Is this a shit monitor? Anyone had anything like this happen? Why would the power supplies dead? I never had any problems with this game before.

Any help is appreciated. Thanks, JAMES

Did you check you voltage adjustments on the power supply before plugging it in? Sounds like the "questionable one" Power supply sent too much voltage and blew a ic chip. The double visions and choppy screen is a boot up sequence that can be enabled by dip switch. This is normal for all Midway Seattle boards. What do you mean by the more it was on the better it seemed to get but then stopped getting better?

See, now I'm learning. I guess that's why the fan was spinning like a jet engine. Short answer, no, did not check the volts :/

What would cause the led light on the power supply to shut off on the other power supplies while the game was on?

Thanks, James

Probably a short, I don't know what type of power supply you have so it depends. You best bet would be finding a replacement Blitz board of find the part that blew. If you snap a pic of the blown chip i might have a part. I have spare ic chips and caps for that board.
