desperate times: can one play games off of a generator?

a generator will work, but i wouldnt run anything sensitive on it. THey tend to be imperfect, to have piece of mind id use a generator wth a ups to help keep thw 120vac in check..


likewise, modify a ups with a big boat battery instead of the little pussy battery they come with ad you cou djust run one off of that.

You have to be careful running electronics off a generator. We have a generator at work the size of an suv and I recall one time they took out a couple computers because they let the cycles drift too high.
To be on the safe side I would at least run it through a ups before the machine.
I just spent the evening prepping for some flooding in the basement. Im not looking forward to it at all.

thats why I use battery backed ups.

You can also use a line conditioner..

good luck guys...keep in mind if it's not a crazy amount of water coming at you a 12Volt boat bilge pump can move some serious water for you and be mobile.
