-Xmen 6 player with board and all for $10
-A large near brand new server rack case with some audio stuff in it for $130
-A few LCD monitors, computers, xbox parts all for $1

There was many other great deals to be had today but I was usually out bid by the same guy that always out bids everyone. Oh well.. I am very happy with the results.

I thought for sure you would be there. I found out last minute by a friend of mine and I rode with him. He ended up buying nothing and I got the goods.. lol.. There was a TON of games but one single guy got most of them, some guy from Cedar Rapids that always wears a tux jacket, pointy boots and has long hair. You probably know him.

Ill post some pics soon.

What the hell? No text or call on this? How many games were there?

Never heard or have seen of a collector in CR. Did you get a name? I will kick it into Magnum P.I mode and find out who he is.

The Dig Dug I used to have came from the dead row of a DesMoines auction back in '03. Monitor and board problems but I was able to get him up and running in fairly short order. Only auction I have been to. I had only been collecting for 2 years at the time and it was a real trip to see that many games (probably 200 or 250) in one place. Being able to play whatever I wanted for free was nice too. I was there for work but it did not feel like work.

Nice pickup there!, I knew there was an auction there in DM but forgot about it, usually there is some shill bidding, but not too bad, and iirc jukes and change machines go cheap, did you get a listing? My guess is the guy with the long hair was bidding for the guys stuff to keep it higher, or he owned it.

Thanks for the update. I wasn't able to go because my son had his first football game.

What did the Ms Pac Man go for? I've played that particular machine a number of times @ Tokens and would have liked to restore it.

The ms pacman cab that was in severly rough shape but played well went for a little over $500.... which I thought was ridiculous. Most of the normal to smaller size games went for a little high in my opinion and the huge games like Time Crisis and such they couldn't even give away... most of those either didnt sell or went for $1.

I can't say I'm surprised seeing the X-Men sell so cheap. It sounds like it was missing the monitors,, but these things tend to sell really cheap at auction just being so massive. I already have one, but I'm just crazy enough to buy a second one at that price.

You want a 3rd?

I was afraid that one would go high but never expected that much. I was willing to pay a little extra since it was a cabinet I had played a lot but wow. It is very-very rough as I recall. I was interested in a couple of the bigger games (Top Skater comes to mind) but don't have the space. Seems like the Crazy Taxi was in good shape the last time I was there.

Thanks for the update.

Does anyone have or know where the art files are for this cab, especially the side art. I seen Ground Kontrol vectorized it but never shared the files. And every arcade artwork sharing site only has a few things but not in good quality. I want to get this cab done as soon as I can. Thanks! :)

Also, one monitor I left there at the auction, the other is in the cab. But I am putting a large 46" LCD in it anyway. The cab is actually in pretty good shape, just a big chunk missing on the control panel and that's it. And the PCB works but needs a few fixes.

Rick,
I assume this was the Tokens auction. Have you ever been there before? Is it worth going to every year, or did you just score. I am going to MOMA's auction next month, but people have been telling me I should expect to be disappointed. I would like to find a good auction up north so I can start marking the calendar. Nice X-Men, by the way, I always loved that cabinet and want to grab my own one day (soon).

This Tokens place was closing down so everything in the entire building was for sale. For the most part there was some pretty amazing deals that day but also some stuff went for a ridiculous amount but that has to do with a few stupid bidders having a war with each other. Any of the big cabinets nobody wants so they couldn't even give them away. If you ever see a 6 player Xmen at an auction most likely you will score it for dirt cheap.

You won't find the art...even ground kontrol's control panel is custom iirc
