I am currently working on an Allied Leisure Hearts/Spades cocktail pinball machine. I get some lights when I turn the machine on, but nothing on the displays or no action anywhere. I have tested 4.6VDC at the filter cap on the MPU. I know that is low, but it should still function. The fuses are all good, but I notice that almost every connector I pull apart has chaulky-looking pins (corrosion I assume). Can I spray the connectors directly and the AMP sockets on the boards with DeOx-it D5? I have never used this stuff before. I assume it works like contact cleaner, but just wanted to make sure it wouldn't damage the connectors or the board itself on the power supply.

Well, you can replace the plug side connector pins, which I would recommend:

As for the PCB connectors, you can try digging around for replacements from TE Connectivity:

I haven't really had a chance to hunt down a part number myself, but you can try contacting TE Connectivity about the PCB connectors. Between the 5x3 layout and that they mate with the 60620-1 pins, that may get you somewhere. The housing probably isn't available, but you might be able to find the PCB socket connector.

De Ox

I use the De Ox all time in the older games and have had great results. I use the De Ox 5 and the gold version . Pricey at $20 bucks for the gold $14 for the D5. Both do a great job. I just clean up the excesses up with a rag and q tips.

Especially on the old bake light connectors both male and female sides.

Thanks for the reply. I actually started using it today and have had some success. The machine now plays, but nothing on the numerical display boards. But that is for another thead.
