What kind of price range would a average to good condition demolition man go for. Any thoughts on it besides the Cyro claw being prone to breaking. I really don't like the art work or the back glass but it plays well?
Thanks

You know, I owned one and sold it because I wasn't pleased with the condition. It was never going to be SUPER NICE. Also, it got a little repetitive for me. However, I miss it and if I could find a very very nice one, I'd snatch it up again.

Don't pay more than 1100 for an "good" one. The most I would spend would be 1400, and it would have to be very very nice. Perfect, really. Those damn gun handles just wear so easily and look like shit when they do.

Fun game. Fast. Love hitting the ramp shots on these. Cryo Claw isn't THAT hard to deal with. But you will be taking a lot of ramps and stuff out to get to it. It's my understanding that the elevator optos are really hard to get to, however. I don't doubt it from what I've seen.

You know, I always assumed this was a Sega/DE title. It is a fun B title with not so great theme, and has known reliability issues. I was shocked when last weekend I fired it up in PinMAME, and it had the Williams "W" on it.

So again, why is Williams so vastly superior?

Generally speaking, Williams/Bally/Midway pins have a certain "feel" to the way they play. It's hard to explain, but since most people grew up playing Williams pins (at least this generation of folks), it kinda became the industry standard. When you play a Gottlieb or a DE or Sega, it loses something. The closest I ever found personally was Hook. Data East pin, but really felt like a Willams play to me.

If you have a chance, play some different pins, Sterns, Segas, DE's, and then go back to one of your more well liked (NOT favorite) Williams machines, and I think you'll see what I'm trying to get at. Maybe someone else could explain it better.

Thanks for all responses. I prefer Williams pins but I guess you can barely even call this one even though it is a widebody. Its crazy how much people ask for DM's on EBurn.

DM to me is a fun low-dollar DMD machine. Since condition varies I have seen these as low as $ 700 but seem to wholesale in decent condition for around $ 1,100. I like the theme and the gameplay is fun so for a grand or less I would consider it a good pick pick-up.

Went and looked at it and the bottom of the game right below where the coin box sits is cracked pretty badly to the point I can flex it by pressing on it. It looks like it was kicked from underneath because inside the game the board is pressed up pretty badly about 1 inch high in some spots. Its looks to probably be structurally sound but moving it might make the crack grow/expand. Isn't that wood particle board or close to it and would there be anyway to fix it. The rest of the game is in decent condition with normal wear on the play field and a few broken plastics.
The seller is pretty firm on $1200 so I am going to pass but what would would it be worth in this condition and how would you fix something like that crack?
Thanks

I think the gamplay is pretty fun on Demo Man. And I like the Cryo Claw. A lot of peple bash it as a pin with shallow rules and easy shots, but I find it fun.

Give it time. If it sells, you're better off not paying that anyway. There's been a Popeye Saves the Earth showing up on local listings once in a while around here. It's gone from over $2,000 down to $900 and I think it might still drop more.

I have never played it, but it's definitely not a desirable game if the going rate is any indication. The theme, art, widebody, etc. don't appeal to me. One of the cheapest Williams DMD's, around $1000 or less.

Williams IS vastly superior.

DE = a handful of great games out of many
Williams = handful of stinkers out of many

There's a noticeable difference in quality and feel, too. (Though obviously, there are some Williams pins that are known for being "high maintenance").

he firm on a $1000 thought you said "The seller is pretty firm on $1200".

No I talked to him again and went over all the broken stuff there was on the pin when I went and looked at it. He said he would take $1000 FIRM because of all the broken stuff he was unaware of. Where he has the game its pretty dark so I am sure there is more broken stuff I can't see in the dark. The crack on the underside of the pin is huge and its just going to grow. He can keep it for $1000
