I recently acquired one of these, as some sadist (coughGuidoTorpedocough) was going to leave it out in the rain to be turned into papier-maché...

GT parted it pretty good, as all that is left is the body, headbox, and wiring, but I know how cool of a pin it is so I decided to put it in my inventory.

Did I do the right thing? I personally feel that the best line ever spoken regarding this hobby was said by Kevin Costner in THE GUARDIAN:

"save the ones you can Jake.................."

And that's how I roll. :D

I don't see it being useful to you, really. You could sell the harness (if that is what you mean by wiring). I've seen cabs disassembled and used as wall art. I'd be interested in a side piece of the head if you decide to bust it up. The only other thing it could be used for is a replacement to a worse cab. I don't imagine it being nice if it was parted to begin with.

I'm not going to say it's a 10 out of 10, but I've definitely seen worse pin cabs. Heck I own one (Evel Knievel).

This would be great for a pin simulator project. The widebody cabs can just fit a bezel-less lcd screen. If I was closer, I'd make an offer on it.

This is a very interesting concept, Steven.... I've never seen anything like that before.

I actually really enjoyed the Demolition Man movie so, that's why the game cab piqued my interest.

I'm pretty creative so, I'm sure I'll find some type of use for it.

EDIT - found the link after a few searches, it was STTNG: http://home.comcast.net/~ataritoday/wsb/html/view.cgi-home.html-.html and I was mistaken about the screen; uses a 19" CRT. :(

Oh god, don't use that as an example

The software you need is Hyperpin which is modelled on the Ultrapin software.

Ultrapin uses Visual Pinball. Hyperpin uses this also, along with Future Pinball

Have a look at the custom build forum over at VPforums.org here for some REAL inspiration ;)

I have a Hyper Pin cab with nearly 100 pin good quality tables on it. It's no substitute for the real thing, but it's a helluva lot of fun!

A great game - amazing flow. Very difficult to finesse the ball on that one - you have to take most shots on the fly. Playing it in the PPE tournament.

i just bought a DEMO MAN pin. years of sitting under a leaky roof blew out the bottom and i found it with the speaker sitting on the floor and the transformer dangling by a wire.
pretty much most of the wood parts are ruined but the electronics seem almost perfect. playfield is very nice with just a little rust on the metal parts but surprisingly very little wear.
i think the water hit the glass and ran down to the lockdown bar and onto the bottom board which swelled up and fell out.
now all i need to do is find a DEMO MAN with a worn out playfield and i got my self a pinball cheap. or, use the boards in something else.
