Ok.. so I finally recieved delivery of the 4 player Demolition Derby. Its in good shape..except the shifters are pretty loose feeling. I haven't had time to open the CPs and see exactly whats going on. Has anyone rebuilt these shifters..any advice will be appreciated. Also I need to find the 4 player manual.

Sure take some pics. I would appreciate it very much.

I'm restoring a DD right now, i'll have a couple extra shifters when I'm done.
I can send them to you if you still need them.

The shifters are basically joysticks held in place by two very stiff leaf switches. Mine were hit so many times by the internal shifter edge that it actually cut through two of them. If anyone wants to repro theses, I'd buy a full rebuild kit.

they work.. but are so loose that when you let go of the shifter.. it just drops. Yes I would be interested in the extra shifters. I agree a repro part would be great.. but it seems though that it would be expensive because there aren't that many of the 4 player versions around.

Oh.. and is there repro artwork available or do we need to start scanning it in for future printing?

AND I need a manual..or at least a pdf I can print out. :)

hahaha-

I'll play with the loose one when I come over.

Isn't that how you play it anyway? One hand on the wheel and one on the stick? It's not like there's a turn signal or horn you need to operate.

yeah I know.. but it just feels worn out...and its not just one its all of them. Plus the two lower speakers were kicked in sometime in the past..so I nee to find replacements. You are more than welcome to come down. I'm off until Jan 4. I will be in Columbia tomorrow afternoon.

I'll send you a list of parts that I put together to restore my game.
It will be done next week so I'll provide a photo guide as well.

I'm getting ready to start on teh full restore of my DD as well. I would love any insight and all pictures you care to put up.

I do because I don't have a manual yet and a visual reference is better than nothing. Thanks!
