Hi guys, here is the deal -
Fixing a demolition derby for a friend. He got it several years ago from a dealer. When it turns on, now it only has some scrambled white blocks on the screen. When he called, I initially thought it was white grid test pattern so I replaced the Z80 - but that wasn't the case.
I checked the power supply - all the voltages seem to be fine (the +5 and +12). The power supply looks like it was recently re-done (probably from whomever bought it) Caps look brand new and the big blues look brand spankin new.
I've concluded it must be a board set issue - and told him he should send it in or I'd see if anyone had one. The only other thing I could think of was to try and replace all of the ribbon cables between the boards.
So -
1)Just wanted to check and see if anyone had any other ideas.
2) Who repairs MCR boards?
Thanks!
