I have a Demolition Derby 4 Player that I got about a year ago. Before I bought it, the previous owner removed the game board for a project he was working on. So, I basically bought a complete DD 4 Player minus the game board and wiring harness. The monitor, power supply, steering wheels, shifters, buttons, coin mechs, and the other wiring are all still there. Since it will be nearly impossible to find the game board and a wiring harness, I am considering turning this into a "Demolition-Derby-Only" MAME cabinet. I have already spoken to someone at ultimarc.com, and they said they have a part called a U-HID that can handle the 4 steering wheels, shifters, and start buttons. What would be the best way to use the factory 25" arcade monitor with a computer? Can anyone tell me what else I would need to get this project working? Thanks in advance!

Damn..I was hoping you were about to part it out lol. I have a Sarge..that was converted from a Demolition Derby 4 player cab. I am looking to convert it back.. Good luck with your project.. you are 95% there. Personally I would keep looking for the 4 player original boardset.

I would try and hunt down a boardset, or convert another MCR 3 game into one. Of course you also need to get a modified SSIO, as Demolition Derby has a extra connector for the additional inputs. I have a spare I may consider letting go for the right money........

Yeah, if you're going to go through all the trouble to create a harness for a MAME version, might as well just buy a boardset and create the Demolition Derby 4-player harness instead.

You could probably start with just about any MCR harness, as the power wiring and most of the connections to the boardset are similar enough it would save the time of making those from scratch.

Why just DD? Couldn't you throw a couple other driving games in there too, like 4p Sprint, 2p Super Sprint, 2p Ivan Stuart's Iron Man?

Add a joy and a few buttons for Gauntlet? Warlords?

That sounds like a good idea, but I'll be happy just to have 1 game working on it at this point. So far all I have managed to do with it is install casters on it. This way I can easily move it around the garage when it gets in the way.

Yeah I did the same for mine..its a heavy bitch of a cab to move. LOL
