My late father's machine wasn't working and had a lot of cables disconnected and the main power fuses were removed.

I bought new fuses yesterday and the game works can hear the sounds except the monitor doesn't turn on as a cable to the flyback is cut. I am assuming that there was something wrong with the flyback and was going to try to buy a new one but I was going to take a break for awhile.

I guess I could splice the cable and see if it works, but I was just going to give up for now and take a break.

Do not do that. Give us some pictures and a model number.
I'll have to take some pics again. It's an old Crazy Climber and has a Mitsubishi tube, but the only results I was getting on search engines was Australian arcade forums (I live in the USA). I didn't see the markings on the chassis to determine the monitor manufacturer. I will happily take and upload new photos if any of you could help me identify a suitable replacement chassis as I don't know how I would find a flyback on it's own.

Thank you kindly for the responses.

Is this a Taito or Nichibutsu? The Taito has a Electrohome or a Wells Gardener. The Nichbutsu has a Hitachi monitor.

Is it a CC upright or cocktail? The cocktail had a Mitsu or Hitachi monitor, I believe. Some uprights had WG4600 (or WG4900??)?

Thank you again. Any information or advice on flybacks or complete compatible chassis replacement options would be appreciated.

My guess is that is a Mitsubishi. I am surprised that that is a 20". Page 28 of the manual shows your tube number and Mitsubishi.

So what advice would you give me on going forward? I wanted to keep the machine all original & I don't know how to find replacement parts.

Show us a picture of the cut wire. I do not know who works on such an odd monitor or who to go to on finding a replacement.

Your location would help.

In the picture of the flyback it is a red wire seen cut coming out of the top of that box. The box was screwed closed.

The cut wire leads to a cut wire attached to the little PCB that's attached to the little square tube board.

We kids played this game in our childhood in the 80s but I don't remember or know why it stopped working but obviously my dad decided to mess with it. The non-working machine has been in my possession for over 30 years since and I was hoping to tackle it now.

Is that a char mark on the top of your flyback? If that is melted, your flyback is toast.
I'd prefer to think of it as char-broiled. Jokes aside I'm guessing my dad was probably going to replace it and found himself in the situation that I find myself in now.

Do you think the monitor would power on at all with that flyback if I reconnected it?
