Degaussing problem or something , driving me crazy

do you have a degauss wand or are you relying on the tube coil? earths magnetic field plays funky havok with some tubes , I have one machine , if you move it , I have to degauss it all over again unless it is put back exactly the same orientation and place it had been moved from.

*EDIT*
ok see you have tried a coil to no avail , unfortuneately there isnt much you can do with earth magnetic interference other than move it to where it looks good and leave it there

The magnetic field of the earth (or even electrical current in your walls) affects monitors differently when in a vertical position than a horizontal position. You may not be able to face it that way ever....

Would a bigger coil make a differance??? I loved the spot i had it in before, and kinda hate where its at now. . . Not going to complain too much, considering this is the biggest problem in my life right now. . .

Doubt it. if the problem is very small in one corner, you could add a small magnet to the metal band around the outside edge of the tube in that area to correct it. If it's big, then you're probably SOL...

All of this problem, just from turning the monitor to vertical?, even thought the machine is in the exact same spot it was before i turned the monitor. and any benifit from unpluging the factory degausser???

And this is all after putting the machine where you want it and leaving it OFF long enough to get cold ? (say 20 minutes or so)

Would it make a differance if i let it get cold and then move it where i want it , and then fire it back up??? and if i let it sit where it is now " where the monitor looks good " for a long enough time could i move it later " where it was originally " and maby the picture stay???

I have noticed when you shut the game off, you usally see the screen shrink into a little dot in the middle of the screen as it goes off, mine goes to a little dot in the upper left corner area, not in the middle, does that mean anything. . .

Get a small magnet that you can stick to the chasis or monitor frame, you could probably place it so the monitor colors are normal. I had to do that with one machine. Worked great for me.

I pivoted an entire cabinet a few days ago when cleaning. It used be positioned with the monitor facing outward 90" from the wall. Now I have it parallel to the wall, in the same spot of the room and I have a big discolored area. It's pretty much the same as spinning a TV on it's stand so you can see it from a different spot of the room... go figure.
