i have 2 monitors that i'm havin probs gettn degaussed. well, mainly it's the upper left corner on both. they are both 4900's and both were horizontal that are now in a vertical set-up. i just can't get the color to come out right. any advice or tricks of the trade?? i'm using an old walsco degausser i snagged off fee-bay.

I've sometimes seen this in monitors when putting them vertically in a cab. Sometimes this puts one edge of the monitor too close to a speaker or other electrical/magnetic force. Sometimes it's just a result of the earth's magnetic field affecting it. If you rotate the cab and it changes some, that's the most likely reason.

If you've used a good hand-held degausser and can't make it go away, you could always try sticking a small magnet on the metal ring around the edge of the tube on that corner. Sometimes that counteracts whatever is causing it and gives you a good picture...

+1

I've had to do this as a last resort. Sometimes it's the only way to get the picture to look right. :(
