Hey fellas, I have had this problem for a while and decided to finally look in to it. I have a WG25k7191 that gives me wavy picture. I have isolated the problem to the degaussing coil. If I disconnect it from the chassis the problem stops. I bought the monitor used a while back and never realized that it had been the degaussing coil was disconnected until I capped the monitor a few months back. Thinking nothing of it I plugged it back in after finishing the cap. So my question is does anyone know what can cause this and is it even fixable. Every now and then I get a minor red push on the monitor which I then have to temporarily connect the degaussing to get rid of. It would be cool to just have it work all the time.

I'd swap R105 which is the thermal resistor that activates/cuts off the degauss coil.
Thermister - 7 Ohm 140V max

Any electronics supplier should carry them, but I've had good luck just scavenging them out of junk TV chassis. Most sets/monitors use almost the same degaussing circuit.

Yeah unfortunately I don't have any spare chasis laying around. Only electronic store around here is radio shack which doesn't list them online. Anyone else have an idea where I can get one?

Radio Shack isn't really an electronics supplier... Try one of the usual suspects - Mouser, Jameco, Digi-Key, etc. This isn't the sort of part you're likely to find locally unless you actually have an electronic supplier in your town.
