Does anybody know the best way to build a new complete wiring harness for Defender? I guess my question really is where can I find connectors that will work with the board.
Thanks
Shane

i think member Dokert sells a defender harness. me? id just make my own but it might be easier for you to buy one.

I currently have 5 Defender Harness' in production, but they are all spoken for as far as I know.

The cheapest way for you to get the connectors, is to buy a set from Bob Roberts.

Shane, if it is details including the correct wiring specifications, schematics, connectors, connector pinouts (and gender of the pins in each connector) that you are looking for to enable you to buy the components, materials and tools to do the job, i am also hunting for detailed wiring loom info, so i can make my own.

i have posted a separate thread (see below) where i have listed the questions i have assembled while trying to find out the necessary details to enable me to build a full set of inter board and cabinet wiring looms between the PSU, boards and the various cabinet components incl Marquee lighting, Monitor, Speakers, CP, coin door and interlock switches etc.

See the following post for details. http://forums.arcade-museum.com/showthread.php?p=818237#post818237

If you have a working loom set to copy, then you are most of the way there. All you need is the correct wire sizes, voltage/current ratings & colours for each part of the loom, the connectors with pins, the crimping tool for each pin size, a pin remover for each pin size, some spare pins and wire to practice on, a lot of patience and documentation.

Buying one is a lot easier, and at least now i know where it is possible to obtain a completed one too!

Cheers!

I am also looking for more detailed info on Defender harnesses

I have the answers to your questions, but you should post your own thread vice hijacking this one.

Currently, I am the only person stocking original color wiring for Williams games. I do NOT sell wire all by itself, as it would defeat my purpose. I have all of the connectors that you need, but again I do NOT sell connectors. Bob Roberts on the other hand does sell the connectors that you need.

The coin door connector on a Defender uses a 15 pin molex .062 connector. The connector for the AC harness to power brick, is a standard 12 pin molex .093 connector.

I thought the info i had gained so far would be of interest to smarlin87, as would answers to the questions, therefore added my info/questions in support of his question. Hijacking was not my intention!

Thanks for the additional info and i hope smarlin87 has benefited. Cleaned up aforementioned post and reposted in a separate thread as suggested.

Cheers.

Thanks everyone. I think I will attempt to build my own but we will see how that goes. My machine doesnt even really need it but I have to replace some ram chips, which has sparked my intreset in working on it. My main problem was to find all the molex connectors, which I now know.
Thanks
