I'm in the process of getting my Defender working , I'm wiring in the monitor.

The monitor is a G07-CBO and when I wire it in the picture is rolling no matter how I adjust the hold pot, looks to me as though the sync is off on it.

Here's how I have it wired :

Defender Board - G07 ( to the 6 pin J201 input)

1 - Red 1 - Red
2 - Green 2 - Green
3 - Blue 3 - Blue
4 - Gnd 4 - Gnd
5 - +Vert Sync 5 - +Vert Sync
6 - +Horiz Sync 6 - +Horiz Sync

Can someone confirm if this is right please? Thanks!

I thought it was I don't have any wiring to the 3 pin input which is negative sync right?

Hmm then I wonder why my screen wont stop rolling

Is it a smooth roll or does it seem to bounce or momentarily lock in place? The connectors that WMS used on those games are well known for not always having the best connection between the wire and the pin in the connector. You might want to see that you have continuity between each of the sync and ground wires on either side of the connectors.

That three pin connector is negative SYNC.

Thanks gamefixer. I took the monitor harness from my joust and hooked the defender to the joust monitor using jousts monitor harness. Joust monitor is known good.

Looks like a different issue Coz I'm getting black and white jail bars, so seems like it's two issues.

1. Monitor sync issue on defender monitor
2. All 4 LEDs staying lit on rom board of defender displaying black/white bars on a known good monitor

I figure until I get it working on the known good monitor I should skip issue 1 for now.

Do you know anything about issue #2? Thanks.

the last time all 4 leds stayed on for me was when I lost my 5v to the main pcb
dont just check the light get a meter and see if its getting there
and while you are there check the other 2

Thanks , checked the voltages , everything is ok there. I even dropped in a switching ps for a quick test and got the same result.
