My Defender cocktail goes through the "carpet" screen, says "Initial Tests Indicate Unit OK"...then back to the carpet, repeat...

Is there a common thing that would cause this?

Thanks!

Sounds like cold solder joints on the header pins. Resolder the header pins on the cpu board for starters.

Sounds like it can't access part of the address map. (Or it is but is reading garbage). So the watchdog is going off. Try reseating the program ROMs for starters.

I have some flowcharts here if you want them? A few minutes with them and a logic probe can usually fix just about any problem.

Hey guys -so I figured I'd start easy and reseat the roms ...Rom 4's legs pretty much just fell off! All the legs are corroded where they come out of the chip! Dunno if that's the culprit...but seems like a possibility! Once I get a new chip in there, I'll let ya know what happens!
