Hi;
This is a continuation of a "no sound" issue on my Defender:
http://forums.arcade-museum.com/showthread.php?t=164957&highlight=defender
I have already spent way too much time on this but now it is more of a quest to find the solution more than anything else!
I troubleshot the board, made the repairs, had sounds, then lost them again. I found a trace that was shorting to the mounting bracket, someone had the bright idea to just drill through the PCB and screw it to the mounting bracket! I attached a couple of pics before and after.
Anyway, the sounds come up when I boot the game, get a little garbled then vanish. There are no sounds in test. I attached a link to 2 short videos that I posted so you could hear the sounds.

I have already capped the sound PCB, replaced the defective PIA and socket. Fabricated and replaced the interconnect wires. Tried replacing the 6802 for testing and had the same sound issue. All fuses are good and I even tried freeze spray of the components to see if that would bring the sounds back in test, no good.
If you could please listen to the sounds the game makes before it drops out and if it rings a bell with a similar problem you might have had, I would greatly appreciate a push in the right direction.
Thanks much
Jeff
