I have this Defender boardset that seems so work fine but only after I reset it once when it is powered on. It gets a RAM error every time it's turned on but if it's reset via reset switch it boots fine everytime??? I installed the RAM upgrade kit with new 4164's and the power header adapter and I'm using an ATX power supply with correct voltages. Any help would be appriciated....

Check the CMOS RAM voltages. It may be the batteries are dead, the holder is bad or some other reason the CMOS is not holding the settings (see previous discussions about why switchers are not a good idea in Williams games).

When you hit the reset button the CMOS is running off the power supply power and will retain the settings.

Well I don't have any batteries in it at the moment...I'll throw some in and see what happens. I didn't think batteries would have anything to do with the RAM.

Well smack my ass and call me Sally...it did have batteries but they were dead, changed em out and now it's good....thanx man! :)

No problem. Some days, you get lucky and it is the simple things. Congrats and enjoy that Defender.
