Defender Multi-Williams Control Panel

Did anyone here buy one of these from Apollo.com back in the day?

How good does the CPO stick to the plexi? I am thinking of doing something like this with my Defender. I ordered a jrok multi board for my Defender and it will run Defender and Stargate only with the original 2-way stick.

The problem is that I need an Inviso button for Stargate. My choices for a CPO would then be a new Defender CPO from Arcadeshop and just slap in an Inviso button:

Or going with something custom printed by one of the inkjet guys. I found this online and I like the way it looks (yes, it needs some black added to each side):

But I think I need either plexi over the top or maybe plexi underneath like what Apollo made in order for the overlay to look right and hold up around the joystick.

Any ideas/thoughts?

Kind of on-topic, but why do a lot of the Multi-Williams layouts have the reverse button so far away from the joystick? Seems like you'd almost be better off with an extra button farther away for left player flap in Joust and leave the reverse button where it is for Defender.

Also, did you find anything for this? I have a Defender that may end up JROK'd at some point exactly like you are talking about for Stargate/Defender.

Sorry for polluting your thread. :)

Because a multi panel no longer has the small profile of the 2way stick underneath. The base of a 4 way stick requires the bit of extra room.

I designed this one for my jrok'ed Defender. As BaconSM pointed out, the joystick bases will have to be modified in order to use the current placement. I haven't done this yet, but it's on my (long) projects list. I am going to have Mamemarquees print it, they do excellant (even if it is inkjet) work.

Thanks for the info guys! I've been wondering about that for a while. Is the joystick mod documented somewhere?

Are you willing to share your highres image? I may want to do this sometime in the not so distant future for my Defender. :)

Thanks!
Gary

I don't know if it's documented anywhere, but basically you'll have to trim the corner of the joystick base in order to have room for the reverse button. PM me your email and I will send you the full size Photoshop file, it's about 20 MB.
