I have a k-7000 in my defender thats not giving me a stable picture"bouncy". depending on whats going on the screen the B+ is 123 to 131vdc. rebuilt a 7000 and swapped it out and still the same thing. wheeled over my testing rig and powered the monitor and it was stable and holding steady at 123vdc. looks like the winding in the iso is going bad. Can I just wire in a 120 in 120 out in additon to the original and where is the best place to tap the 120vac? Or is there another issue I might be missing?

You're correct you can wire that baby right in.

With that said though, I would think that your problem might be in the video signal. It could be anything from the main fuse in the cabinet, to the power fuses on the power supply... caps on the power supply, or caps on the game board.

I haven't seen isolation transformers go bad very often, I'd clean the fuses up as good as I could first, and then if you can do it try swapping in another power supply.

If you do want to do the transformer though, look at the bottom of the transformer in the cabinet, you'll see two wires going in, one connected to "o" and one connected to 120 or whatever. That will be a good place to splice in your ISO. That way it'll be behind the switch and everything and turn off/on with the rest of the game.

took some volatges, the monitor was getting 130vac. that was too high and causing my problem. wired in an old pacman iso I had and now works fine. B+ is stable at 123vdc
