Hi all.
I've got a Defender cabinet that I'm turning into a stealth multi-williams, using the overlay from TOG.
My question is, how should this be applied?

I can't remember if the Defender CP had plexi or not. Should I just put the CPO on the bare plywood and cover with Plexi? on some plexi and screw into the plywood? etc....

I can't seem to find an original defender CP to look at and see how it was done, and it's too far gone in my memory. the cabinet I have was converted to gauntlet before I got it, so it never had the original CP on it.

Anyone know?

Thanks

Steven

I don't have a Defender to look at in person. I just used my Google-Fu to find this picture...

Defender was reverse screen printed to a thin piece of plastic/plexi. It was not a CPO with plexi installed over.

Rich at TOG now has the ability to re-create something very similar to this. Ask him about it.

This...

I just installed one of Arcadeshops repro's on my Defender and it feels just like the original with the rigid underlay. Not multi-Williams, but I think it's the nicest reproduction of the original I've seen.

So what would you suggest I do with this TOG Defender Multiwilliams overlay, in order to get the most authentic feel to an original Defender CP?

I suppose I could just put it over the plywood and call it a day? Or could I put really thin plexi overtop?

I love the look of that arcadeshop defender repro!

Either one of these would look good. There are other issues you need to figure out though, like how the joysticks will be mounted and whether you want the dust washers over or under.
