On my Defender joystick one of the leaf springs or tensioners is broke. Does any know the best way to replace this part? It is stonger and longer than the normal tension spring found on a leaf button.

Interested in any ideas for replacement or Jerry rigging.

you should just be able to clean the contacts or bend them a little bit to make sure they touch well when you go up and down leaf switches dont go bad very often

its not the actual electric conection part of the leaf. It the Hard metal part that keeps the joystick centered. The metal is actually broken off and gone.

This is a real operator hack, but it works great.
(1) Pull the working tensioner.
(2) Go get a standard hacksaw blade and cut a piece the same size.
(3) Lay the original one on the piece of hs blade and mark the holes(s) where it bolts on.
(4) Drill the hole(s) and use it to replace the broken one.

It will look like sh*t, but if you don't tell anyone, no one will know. The first time I saw that hack, I was just grinning at what a clever bastard that operator was.
