Just woundering about the rarity of a dedicated Vs Unisystem Cab. One has come up within my region, however its a 14 hour drive round trip. Sadly it has been converted to DJ boy. But the cab/cp it look good in the bad photo's they posted. I have no problem converting it back to a Vs system.

Edit: for clarification this is the cabinet I'm referring to.

They are on the rarer side. I have been on the lookout for one for a couple years and still have never seen one.

You are in luck Belton, MO. I have a dedicated VS Unisystem cab for sale just outside St. Louis on hwy 70. You can tell by the grey color and the speaker mounted just below the marquee and not under the control panel. Its currently on Craigslist. I put a NOS VS Hogans Alley kit in it with a never used topper and rebuilt the lightgun.

The dedicated Playchoice 10 Sm i've seen have all been MDF. Just curious is your Dedicated Vs system is in a MDF or a Plywood cabinet?

Did the Dedicated Vs Cabinet come in a Plywood Cabinet, maybe the better question.

I've never seen a plywood version. I'm not sure if it's MDF, it's more like laminated chipboard. I don't know what the technical term for that stuff is.

I will say that they're very nicely built, and really scream "80's Nintendo!". I haven't seen any in a long time, but one of the first arcade games I ever bought was a Duck Hunt in one. They look really nice, very clean design (like most of Nintendo's stuff).

I believe the basic shape is the same as the Playchoice single monitor, and also R*Type, with of course the exception that they're grey whereas the pc and the r*type are black.

If I may resurrect this thread...

I just picked up this cab... it seems a bit odd to me in that it is black, which makes me think "R-Type", but the plate & sticker on the back say it is a Vs. Unisystem dedicated. I thought those were all grey, but perhaps some were black?

Also, I have to replace the T-molding on this and my instinct was to use DK-style flat white, but after doing a bit of research it seems correct to use black domed t-molding. I think it would look better with white, though, so I may do it anyway. Opinions?

check and make sure it is/isn't offset...the grey dedicated is.

What I've noticed is that the Vs. System conversion kits do have that same ID badge for the Nintendo cabs. The one's for the Ms. Pac/Pac cabs say "Conversion Kit" As it was converting a different style of cabinet to work with Nintendo gear. My Nintendo cab had a "conversion kit" plate which explains the cut up Vs. harness with US-sized connectors rather than metric...
