Hey, just wanted to say I picked up a dedicated upright Williams Splat over the weekend.
I have all the original parts with the game but the cpo was converted to some jamma game so there are 4 extra button holes in the control panel now :(

Sure would like to find a nos cpo!

Will take some pictures soon.

Cheers

Can't wait for the pictures - that's one of the rarest grails in this hobby!

Well that's been my number 1 grail pretty much forever. I too can't wait to see pictures. Please, good pictures of the side art and on the inside, a good shot of the sound board. Is the front glass and marquee, plexi or glass? I heard on the dedicated they are glass. Did you get a manual set with it?

There was a CPO sold on ebay many, many years ago. I bid what I thought was an overwhelming amount, but got outbid. I know who got it and they are on this forum. Perhaps we can get them to repro it.

Awesome find! Where and how did you find it? Any details you can share would be interesting (to me at least).

Well I had a wanted old arcade games posted locally and the guy responded with:

"I have some old arcade and pinball games here in storage from an arcade that closed in the early 80's they have been in storage ever since"

Anyway I had to take the whole lot 6 arcade games and 5 pinball machines. They are all very dirty/dusty from sitting for 25 - 30 years!

The splat Marquee is plexi and the Bezel is glass No manual was included'

Here's the list of the score:

Arcade games

Splat
Asteroids
BattleZone
Defender
Berzerk
Flying Carpet Midway rifle game

Pinball

Spiderman
Kiss
Supersonic
Gulfstream
Fire queen

Yeah.. I am certain that I've seen one or more NOS cpos pop up through the years. It's always fun to hear about a find like this.

Well if you decide you don't like the game (most people don't), please keep me in mind. I'll make a good deal. I've driven to Halifax, N.S. for games before.

Congrats on your pick-up! It's a pretty cool game, I do like the artwork. Please post photos!

I will be selling the game. I've played it quite a bit over the years on multi williams but I know it would be a lot cooler playing 2 people at the same time.

Tode Brothers would pay good money for this one. I will let them know it will be up for sale at some point. Nice find. Very rare game. You should be able to name your price on this one.

Wow, thats pretty crappy of you. Joe has made it pretty clear that he is more than interested. What a nice guy you are to possible cause a bidding war.

I am not a fan of the game but I appreciate its rarity. There was one here locally about 10 years ago but it was a Stargate conversion.

Congrats on the pickup though. Did you get the rest of the haul too?

Agreed.........

What about the KISS pin? Sounds like an instant classic arcade that list does..

I didn't even read Joe's post to be honest. I just saw the part where the guy with the game said it would be for sale soon. I am sure he is interested in ALL offers as any seller of something this rare and desirable would be.

I am sure splat is a grail for most williams collectors. If I knew a friend of mine wanted it, I would pass the info along too. As long as the seller knows its worth a buttload of money if its dedicated cab, then they can decide who gets it.

Would you have posted it in the body of the thread?:D
