Did these use micros or leaf buttons/ joysticks? Were the joysticks 8-ways? What color t-molding was on the front of the CP? What monitors did these generally come with? Were all the marquees beveled at the top as the plexi was too thick for the bracket, or is it just mine? Did the cardboard bezel just sit around the monitor or was it attached to something?

Wico Blue and Red Leafs, 3.5"
8-way

Sometimes I can't tell if you are joking or serious. I'll go along and say serious.

Are 8-ways the ones with round or square actuators?
Depends on the type and version of joystick.

Are the buttons leaf too?
yes

Or will micros work because of the vintage of this title?
I don't see why not, but it's a personal preference.

If you are referring to microswitch joysticks, the 8 ways have square actuators. You can use micros for the buttons. A button press is a button press on this game.

I am serious. I have 2 Wico leaf joys with a round actuators, and a wico micro joy with a square actuator. I really have no idea which is which. I assume round is 4-way in leaf joys?

For leafs, the actuator is usually round for both. Diameter is different. Depending on model, the base may have a restrictor molded into it to determine 2way, 4way, or 8way.

I think all leaf joysticks have round actuators. The leaf Wico's that I have either have a round hole or a diamond hole which makes it 4 or 8 way. I think the later leaf Wico's all had a round hole but used different actuators, although I still think they were round.....

EDIT: Yeah, basically what 2600 said.....

I have another question about the dedicated Taito DD cab. There is a piece of fiberboard that covers and protects the contents of the pull out drawer. The 2 inch hole that is routed for the wiring, does it go in the front by the coin door, or in the back? If in the front, where does the AC cord escape?

Has anyone ever used something like a stiff foam core adhered to the back of the sagging/ curling tagboard bezel to make it rigid again? If so, did it work? Also, where did the test and service switches mount in the original Double Dragon cabinet? Anyone know or have a pic? Thanks.

I *Think* I picked up a Double Dragon cab from TNT a couple days ago - in fact just started searching to see, but I"m pretty sure as I've had one before.

Anyhow, I believe the access hole for the wiring was in the back LEFT corner - left if you were looking at it from the front. The controls, I *believe*, were mounted on top the coin box, but the one I got was modified for a bill accepter so the coin box was torn up.

Well the AC cord notch is in the back right corner (when facing the machine). Wonder why the access hole would be on the other side? I'll put the test switches in the drawer cuz I think that's where they originally went. A pic of an original set up would be sweet. I have the original bus bar to Jamma edge connector piece, but I see no reason to use it with a fully populated jamma harness.

It would be to the right if you're looking at it from the back...I ran to storage on my lunch break (working from home) and took a quick pic. It looks like the floor is original - it has the routed grooves for the coin box.

What cabinet is that? OSB? Yellow overspray? Black sides? This looks NOTHING like my dedicated Taito Double Dragon cabinet.
