Hi All..

What is exactly involved getting a complete defender boardset working in a working stargate?

Cheers!

Dave

I don't know if this solution is interesting to you, but a jrok fpga board with a harness adapter would allow you to play both.

Leave the original board intact and put in a JROK with the adaptor especially if it is a nice dedicated unit. Otherwise look for one of the multi Williams kits to fit original HW.

defender stargate

Clay's Williams Multigame is a good choice if you have a working Stargate board and you want to add Defender. They're not made anymore, but you might be able to find someone here willing to sell one.

i have one of these in a defender cab with the added inviso button. the inside of the cab is really empty though the board is very small. you dont get that ahhhhh feeling when you open it up and look inside (to me i like to see big pcbs and alot of wiring old school). i have to agree it works very well gameplay and sound wise.

I think you're talking about JROK's board. Clay's is an add-on for the original board set.

what i would do is buy some big segmented roms and have the two games in segmented portions and put a switch on the chip select line to play both? may need a ic to reset the cpu so it clears the ram first though i never tried it yet.

Defender in Stargate

If you wish to run Defender in your functioning Stargate cab, Remove the MPU and ROM PCB's and replace these 2 PCB's with working Defender versions.

Found my complete Defender boardset still mounted on the original metal plate it came with.

I'll plug it into my stargate and hope for a picture at least......
