Got this a few days ago. I had seen it at the auction a few months back, where it was dead and went for more than I cared to pay.

It showed back up again the other day and I ended up with. The seller SAID it played blind, but what it really did was popped the GCFI on the outlet I plugged it into. After checking all the components individually it turned out that the only problem was that someone had pulled the wires off the iso transformer and put them back on wrong.

aw man I have been looking for one of those since I started...so sick!

how are the sides?

Not that good. One side has about an 8" square chunk of art missing and the other one has multiple gouges.

I wonder how many of these they made. I've come across a bunch of marquees and even a bezel or two, but never the cabinet.

Does it use just a regular 1-slot board?

also kind of odd placement for the start buttons...

It has a one slot board in it. I haven't tried to see if other carts work in it. I will check that now, and also check to see if the cart serial matches the cabinet serial (if there is one).

NY chinatown fair had one. I always thought it was a nice looking cab. Then I got my butt kicked.

Cart serial is 833, it seems the cabinet serial is just part of the general MVS cab serials, as the plate doesn't reference Samurai Shodown (just Neo Geo) and the serial number is way over 100,000.

Normal cartridges work in it just fine.

That thing is incredible. I did not even know they made dedicated Samurai Showdown 2 machines. Awesome pick up tbbk.

Lanky Kong gets credit for the find. He found this one with a big red 2 slot and wanted the 2 slot, bought them both to get the price down and sold me the extra one at half what he paid for the pair.

Cool cab! I think I saw one at a Super Auctions several years ago. It's kinda weird that they would make a special cab for a regular MVS game, but this and Irritating Maze are the only two I can think of that had their own cab.

Yeah, I will just have to learn how to play it. I never played any fighters other than SF II and Mortal Kombat and even then I only knew the moves of maybe 3 characters combined from both games.

SS2 is great. I took my MVS-2 into my office and got everyone hooked on it & Puzzle Bobble.
