Dedicated Mortal Kombat 3 monitor issues

Do the wires I circled in your pic go anywhere, or are they cut and taped? If they are cut and taped, can you tell where they went previously?

I do not understand why unplugging the connector circled in yellow, you would loose power to the game pcb. According to the MK3 manual (page 38) the power supply is fed by a different purple and purple/yellow wires, though they do share the green ground wire.

Anyway, I would probe the wire connector circled in yellow while it is connected and the game on. Just connect the same multimeter leads to the same wires you did previously, but leave the connector connected. Report back.

The two wires circled in the pic led to another plug that didn't plug into anything as I recall... The multimeter read when I had it on the plugged in monitor 119...

make sure the wires circled in yellow are fully socketed into that white molex connector that they go in, they should not have metal exposed (monitor side of molex). something like that could cause your monitor to have to go out for repairs again, and will prolly knock you on your knees :D

It should look something like this minus the crimp on red connectors. ignore the wire colors as this is a spider-man cab w/ k7000

119 volts is good.

So the EXACT SAME CHASSIS AND TUBE COMBINATION THAT ARE IN THE MK3 CAB RIGHT NOW work when powered by a different cab? By this I mean you have taken that complete monitor out of the MK3 and put it in another cab, and it worked.

Correct... I just thought of something... those two loose wires you had circled, maybe those connect to the power supply... I don't remember if they did or not, but just a thought...

The MK3 manual doesn't show those wires to even be there. According to the manual, the iso. trans. powers up the manque light, monitor and power supply. All with different purple and purple/yellow. It shows to have a 6 pin connector feeding these three things on the output side of the iso. trans. Upload some pics of the iso. if you can.

I wish I could find my camera. I would take pix of the inside of mine for you. I will if I can find it shortly.
