I have a dedicated Congorilla Working 100% up for sale. I totally recapped the 4600 monitor, replaced the T-molding and put some new locks on it. Game comes with original manual the coin door could use some paint and the CP is a little rough. One Side of the cabinet the artwork is a little chewed up the other side isn't that bad. The game could benefit from some corner protectors on the bottom of the cabinet. That being said the game is fairly rare and hard to find in a working dedicated cabinet. The game is A DK clone but has lots of differences between level order and small tweaks to make the game more interesting and harder the further you get in the game.

I'm asking $500 for the game, I might consider a trade but would probably only trade for a non-EM complete pinball project.

Is there any markings on the art that would indicate the mfg? Willis maybe? Just curious glws.

Nice looking cab, Nice cider press.

Got that cider press in upstate PA drove a few hours each way to get it. The thing was totally trashed and I had to scrap all the original wood. I reused all the hardware I could and literally rebuild the thing in a week. Two years in a row now I have pressed cider and made homemade hard cider. It has to be the most labor intensive process imaginable.

Some information from casetext.com indicates that Congorilla was distributed by Steerwell Leisure, including some other 'bootleg' games. Speculation - But given the license information that exists from other litigation around the coverage for Falcon / Crazy Kong and Nintendo, maybe Orca produced this cabinet out of license and Steerwell handled distribution on their behalf in the US.

I played one of these at a Duncan Doughnuts back in the day. Not very common and very cool art. The gameplay is pretty fun but takes a little getting used. Like the Op said, little tweaks here and there that make it interesting.

The one thing that got me is that after playing through the game the next time through there were pieces of the stage one girders missing. So between the barrels and the extra pit falls it got really hard. A lot more challenging than the original DK.

The Congorilla at the deli near me wouldn't drop barrels if you went up a ladder and stopped with your hand at the top of the girder above. I got so used to using this trick that I got my ass kicked when I played a real DK.

trying to figure out why they didnt put a jump button on the right.

We just crossed our hands when we played it. Sounds corny but it was what it was, and that was all the thought we gave it... Kid brains.
