Dedicated Blaster wooden control panel.

Hmmm... How do you know it's for a dedicated? Weren't there Blaster conversion kits? Is the conversion kit panel different from the dedicated? If so, what are any differences? I'm not saying yours isn't from a dedicated, but my guess (and it's a total guess) is they made more conversion kits than dedicated wood cabinet games, and I'm guessing (again, a total guess), it's from a conversion kit. Unless of course there is a difference between a kit and dedicated CP and you can point out that difference that you have the dedicated in your CP.

No translucent buttons either, but the light bulbs are there for them. Doesn't look like the wood was drilled & filled, got the 49-way mount block. Ever seen a Sinistar converted to a Blaster??

Any chance of a comparison shot from yours, Joe?

Either way, pretty freaking nice to see.

Sorry I'm late responding to this. Work has been killing me. This is not my panel. I'm selling it for a friend who told me it was dedicated. That is all I know. He could be misinformed and I welcome any edification

Well that's a sure DOH! move on my part. What was I thinking? I'll look at mine tomorrow and snap a pic or two.

Hey Joe,

Were you ever able to get any pics of your Blaster CP? Looks to be a moot point on this thread but I'd still love to get a peek if it's not a pain. Thanks!

Hey Komodo, I wasn't saying it wasn't a dedicated, I honestly don't know if there is a difference in the kit versus the dedicated, so I was wondering if you knew.

Sorry I was slow on the pics. I have attached them here. Higher res versions are available on my web site here:

Thanks for sharing those Joe. Looks about the same except for the support bar, different buttons, etc. Wiring and all looks correct. Odd though that the CPO on the OP's panel doesn't have the Williams copyright & revision info text on the front panel.

Good eye! Wow, that is odd. I've never heard of a bootleg Blaster CPO. And I'm sure the game never sold enough that Williams needed to make a rerun of the CPOs. Strange.

I know, that was kind of what I was thinking. I believe there are some repros out there but I would suspect they'd be mainly for full repro games. I've not been at it as long as you but I don't recall seeing a Blaster in anything but a Duramold in recent years, apart from yours and the one at Galloping Ghost.

OP, did you get this excellent piece sold at least? Hope this hasn't been an obnoxious thread-jack!

Just bumping this thread to add some revelant info regarding the discussion.. this Blaster kit control panel I've got here doesn't have that copyright info and text on it.. another difference I think there is between the kit and dedicated cabs is, the kits have plastic bezels.. the dedicated cabs have glass bezels. Also, the kit sideart is woefully undersized and only half of what is on the dedicated cabs. Its also possible different kits were put out for different WMS games/cabs, with the parts being sized differently. Not sure about that but speculate its a possibility.
