I'm trading a non-working Centipede cabaret in nice condition for a non-working Golden Tee Fore! cabaret in nice condition. The Centipede monitor would need to be recapped at the very least, and the board may be non-working, as well.

The Golden Tee cabaret's monitor worked fine; the machine pops a breaker now and doesn't boot up. There's no reason to suspect that the GT monitor would need any work, and the board was working before the machine decided not to turn on. I'm assuming that it's probably a power supply issue.

Please factor in that I already have a working Centipede upright, so I can still get my fix. I would have to move about six machines to access the back of the upright, which is why I haven't tested the cabaret board.

I'm going to move forward with this trade anyway, as I don't need two Centipedes, but just wanted to know if it sounds equatable.

I don't know that much about golden tee, but you want one that has all the courses. Finding non working golden tees are very easy. they usually are very cheap. They usually have board and monitor problems. I got a golden tee live 95 (dedicated full size) cheap as it was not working.

The only thing interesting is your saying cabaret. two things that should concern you are is it a home or coin op version? Does it have room to play (trackball has room to be rolled where you won't hit the monitor glass).

As for the trade, I think you can get better for your cabaret, but its your call. I would think working golden tee for yours is fair unless fore is a desirable version. good luck!

Here are photos of the Golden Tee. You can see that it is a commercial machine. It seems as though this game contains five courses.

That's a neat little cabinet. I don't think that GT came in that cab originally, but if it's not a custom or kit cab id say it's relatively rare ... definitely the first I have ever seen. Not sure what it's worth, but I'd guess $300 or so. If it's tripping a breaker its a good chance it is the power supply as you said or some other simple fix, so maybe $50 max to get going. I bet it would take you you a while to get $300 for your centipede cabaret as is but probably not much more So yes, it is an equitable trade in my opinion.

But beyond whether or not it is equitable in terms of trade value, you get some bonus value with the GT: Your getting rid of a game that you already have in the lineup for something that you will probably really enjoy playing and others will definitely enjoy playing when they visit your arcade. So what if you end up with something worth $100 less. It will be worth it with the fun factor, and that's why we do this anyway. Good trade.

That's pretty much what I was thinking. I spent only $50 on the Centipede, anyway. I figured that I would spend $50 on this cab had I seen it at a rummage sale, as I had the Centipede. :)
