Over this past weekend, I hit up a couple arcades on the boardwalks in Wildwood and Seaside New Jersey (yes.. Seaside is where they film that train wreck, Jersey Shore from)

Anywho, on the boardwalk in Seaside was the Carousel Arcade. They had a nice section called "Flashbacks" that had many classic arcade games and pinball machines. Here are some of the pics. My appoligies if this has been posted about before.

Enjoy.

That's righteous! Love seeing classics out for the public like that.

WOW! 50 cents per play. Usually you can see some of those games at Nickel Nickel arcades and they are on free play. Cool arcade though, Nice pics BTW.

If you can deal with the demeanor of the denizens, it's not too bad. I usually go a few times a summer. Some of the games have really been in rough shape though, Centipede was unplayable, a bunch of sprite issues on Paperboy and some other games, etc. It's something though at least...

Wow what a layout!! It looks like the Op just threw the games in anywhere they would fit with no organisation in mind except for the pins. Random crap all over the place, storage totes, tools, general crap. Like someone else said though, better than nothin. I'd still drop a few quarters in that place.

Yeah unfortunately everything there was 50 cents. But this is New Jersey, so if there is any way to scam people, NJ will do it... expecailly at the Jersey Shore. Heck, that place actually had the balls to have a turnstile in front the the bathroom and charged to use it.

Those huge fans bring back memories. Very industrial looking and kinda ugly, but they stick out in my mind for some reason :)

I don't think 50c/play is much to ask in the year 2011.
Most retro arcades want $10/hr admission fee.
I'd rather enjoy the thrill of paying per play and
trying to last as long as I can.

Yeah, as much as the price of everything else has inflated, that's not terrible.

Very sweet arcade, love to see them out in the wild. BTW, 97% of those games in the pictures are in my basement, I do have a problem. Other than the pinball machines that is.
