OK...I can't find the post... who upgraded their decal remover with a radio shack solder-sucker iron? Can you let me know which one and was it available at the store? My 3rd decal remover broke after removing about 80% of my Atari System I vinyl...

Are these things gouging the cabs? I want to remove my tron side art and put new on. I DO NOT want to have to fill in chunks of missing wood before I do so. The cab is nice, so I will not be repainting before the new side art goes on? Any info on if it damages the cabs?

Thanks,
Robert

It depends on how aggressive you are with it. Heat gun + heat decal remover and a little patience and you're golden. I did notice that the edges of my System 1 can tended to get "shaved" a bit... but that is because the edges are slightly moisture swollen...so the shaved parts won't need to be sanded as much!

:)

I did a Tron with this tool and had very minimal gouging. One side was perfect, but I was a little rushed on the other side and made a few nicks. Was easy enough to bondo back up though.
