no dont, ive done similar with a non vector game centipede , i put a centipede in a dig dug, the power supply went poof blown diodes ,rectifiers, and my 5 volt regulator and a cap. atari games are pretty proprietary.
I assume the monitor in your Tempest is working? If so you can take the Tempest monitor and try it IN your Space Duel cabinet. If it works you know the Monitor in your Space Duel is not working. If the Tempest monitor doesn't work in the Space Duel cabinet you can assume you have a board problem. I use the VectorVGA and a computer monitor to test my Vector games, it works very well and right away i know if i have a monitor issue or board issue.
Thanks everybody. I was hoping Atari would have standardized the vector edge connectors, but it sounds like they didn't. I had a bunch of other things to do so I left it alone.
I need to get some time to pull the manuals and take a look at what is going on.

Some are close enough that you can swap them for testing. Asteroids & Asteroids Deluxe can be swapped for testing, and I believe that Black Widow and Gravitar can as well.
