As many of you know I have been restoring a Death Race over the past 9 months...
Even though its only 85 % done - today I brought it home from the shop (a buddy of mine) that I have been working on it at... I had to snap a few pics... Please excuse my messy garage (I do intend to straighten it up in the next couple days)

I have to say that the artwork on this game is awesome. I jumped into the bidding war on the PCB that was just on eBay didn't win though. Maybe one day I will score one of these games.

Yup I bid $103 with shipping it was like $120 total that was my limit on an untested PCB rare or not. It went for like $180 + shipping I'm guessing the top bidder bid well over $200.

Cool! death race! I heard people always talking about the art. (which is really cool).
But how come I don't heard much of it's game play??

Anyways, thanks for sharing that.

Dig the white sides. I saw one of these in person for the first time at an auction a few weeks back and it had black sides. Went for $250 non-working IIRC.

Re:

How could you not like Death Race? I was actually thinking about getting a tattoo of the art, and I have always like the Rat Fink type art.

I would guess because the game is so rare that MOST collectors havent even played it. I never played it before owning one... I knew the game was cool and collectible so I bought it. If you want to come over and play it once the control panel is done - your welcome to.

I remember that game from BITD. There was an arcade in Rehoboth Beach that had some older games. This was one of them. I remember not being too impressed but of course, I have matured now. Can I come over and play?

the 1/8th thick ABS plastic sheeting for lasering these control panels arrived yesterday. Next step, lasering blanks to send to thisoldgame for screening then back to me for the final bend!
