Via slickdeals, the much-beloved-of-KLOV Mr. Clean Magic Erasers in a 9-pack for basically the price of a 2-pack (at least the price in my local Ace Hardware):

YMMV on the final price (Amazon is sneaky with these things), my order came in about a dollar more than SD is indicating, but it's still a very good deal.

I just thought about the other thread from years ago. I still have a ton of them left. Was it Frizzie who found that deal?

Haha. I'm actually having more fun intentionally NOT re-reading that thread, and just enjoying my memories of it. (However accurate or inaccurate they may be).

From what I recall, Friz was one of the people who got screwed, I think. (Don't answer! Lol.)

All I remember was someone posting what seemed like too-good-to-be-true deal, a huge box of something like 100 erasers for 20 bucks shipped. Way more than any one person could ever need. Tons of people jumped on it and ordered (I think across the internet too or something, not just here.) And then we all waited.

- Some people got them and they were great.
- Some people got them and they were total garbage and fell apart.
- Some people didn't get them at all, even like months later.

And then the seller disappeared or something? And I don't even remember if everyone who got screwed their money back. It was like a big gambling thread, with lots of excitement.

Maybe that's all wrong, but that's how my brain remembers it anyway. I actually laughed when I saw this thread, as it instantly triggered that memory.

that's pretty close. I forget how many i bought, but i did get them. I'm guessing i bought 4 orders of 30. I got them no problem. They came in a gray bag from China. 5 years later and i still have half or more of them in that bag on a shelf in the garage. They're fine. About the same as the cheapies you get at the dollar store.

Wow.. totally forgot that.

So, I'm still going through that bulk pack of cheap MEs. I can verify that they 'work', but they seem to fall apart much quicker than the brand name ones. It's like the brand name ones are denser. The cheap ones aren't exactly wet toilet paper though, so for the price, bulk is probably the way to go.

I also remember there was some discussion about whether or not it could be a scam. But then most people were saying well it's such a good deal, and relatively little money, that it was worth taking the risk.

And then someone (me maybe?) made the comment that what more genius of a scam could there be than to get 50k random people across the internet to all send you 20 bucks, for a product that you completely made up that doesn't exist, while also not really caring if they got scammed or not because it's worth the risk. The perfect scam! Lmao.

Good times.

Anyway, sorry for the thread hijack. Magic Erasers, yeah they're awesome. Get some!

They are not pricing errors. You can still buy big lots (100+) of melamine sponges from China for super cheap (what seems like less than it would cost to ship). I've done it at least 3 times now. It takes a long time to get them though (several weeks). One time they didn't show up, but that order was through Amazon, so getting refunded was no problem.
Just looked it up.... my last order was 100 sponges for $7.24 shipped.

I am still working through on
Ha. Who here remembers the OTHER magic eraser thread?
I remember one from years back. They came from China I think. It was boxes of 50? I still got have like 30 of them left, lol. My wife and kids raid them all the time.
