So, as the title says, I've got a non-working Nintendo VS PPU. It either comes on the screen as dead or trash (and it's definitely the PPU as I've checked others). Anyone have any luck repairing these? Did it die from static electricity?

They usually die from being installed backwards, it instantly kills them.
Unfortunately dead is dead, they aren't repairable.
Make sure the legs are clean though, even 1 not making good contact can make them not work. And all legs are intact…

The legs look perfect. Sadly, I think it's RIP

I finally uncovered the science of outer single wipe sockets. they touch the fat part of the rom legs. 😂 which is typically the part that corrodes. I was looking through my Vs. boards and some have gnarly socket corrosion.
