Dead Defender

Here's where I'm stuck:

Not sure what "Lift 5P Isolate" means.

That means to lift pin 6 of 5P so that it is out of circuit. If it is pulsing when out of circuit then 5P is good. If it is not pulsing then 5P is bad and needs to be replaced.

If it is pulsing when isolated, then chip 3D is pulling it down and 3D needs to be replaced.

Cool. Thank you for the clarification. And you are right...it's a good feeling when it starts working. I'm not about to give up....but I also don't want to be a pest. I wish I had another game to use for comparison...I actually am in the process of trying to purchase one but not sure if it's going to happen.

So when it says to "lift a leg" does that mean to unsolder one leg and physically pull it up? Seems like it would break. Or do I cut it and then solder them back together after? Or what?

When I have to do this sort of thing, I pull the chip, put a socket down and then bend the leg out straight and push it in the socket. If the chip is bad, hey, I already have a socket for it, if it's not bad, then it is socketed for when it does go bad. Win all the way around.

Thank you to all who helped with this. I've decided to sell this thing as-is and let another KLOVer enjoy getting it up and running. The other one is now working 100% and I just need to clear some stuff out. I really do appreciate everything you guys have done for me so far and, hopefully, the next person to take it on can complete the job!

Here's the for sale thread if you are interested:
