Repairing another DE Jurassic Park for a local and just wanted some advice on fixing the power supply. Dont have the board in front of me, so just going off memory from last night.

Connector 8 on the psu was hacked into some other wiring. On the backside, the header had some thick wire and a bunch of globbed solder jumped to a nearby trace. After removing the wires and solder reveals that the top 3 or 4 pins have no solder pads on the backside of the board. They connect to a big copper trace on the top side.

I have run into this issue before. Before, I have taken some small copper strands and soldered them on the top side connection and ran through each hole. The bottom side of the strand gives you something to solder the pins of the header to. Should i do this method? Not a big deal, just a little time consuming and difficult to get header installed easily.

or...

Since the header is close to the edge of the board, would it be okay to run a heavy gauge wire(connecting the 3 or 4 pins together) from the bottom side around the edge of board to the top side and soldered to the big trace? Done in a nice and neat manner. Or would that be frowned upon?
