A friend of mine just purchased this game and it's dead. The voltages appear correct on all power supplies. The monitor(d9200) seems to power up but nothing on the screen. Nothing happens when coining up. It sounds like the cd rom is spinning, but something tells me the board is dead. Does anyone know much about these? I suspect a bad RTC chip, but I'm not sure it would shut the entire board down. It didn't on my mocap and silent scope, at least an error message appeared on the screen. Help?

bad RTC would generate an error. I was never able to skirt around that, maybe I wasn't pushing the right buttons. I had to send DDR Extreme and Dance Maniax to Betson to fix.

I would take the entire board apart and put it back together. connections are silly. it's been a really long time, I can't remember if the cd-rom is dead if that makes it look like the whole thing doesn't work.

Ok, thanks for the suggestions mecha! I'll try that, who's betson?

Betson Imperial is a parts supplier and game distributor. they handle repairs for Konami games though, also support for Raw Thrills and probably other companies. they're based out of New Jersey. by Chicago we have the Betson Midwest branch, I think they just did the repairs in-house for us years ago, the turnaround was pretty quick.

they apparently have the technology to cut new RTCs.

Can you hook up another JAMMA board or hook a laptop up to the VGA port on the D9200 to test it? You'll need to reduce the resolution to 640x480 on the laptop, and may need to move one of the cables on the interface board. The 573 can take some time to boot, I don't think it makes any sounds if it errors out. Otherwise it might also be a loose bootrom causing it to not start.
