I seem to wear out these Dayton Gear motors 2L007 used in Sky Master or Kings Castle and a few others about once a year. They have a small DC motor attached to them and I find that the problem is the brushes wear out after about a year. The rest of the gear motor is working just fine.
I have found a few DC motors of the right size but getting the right sized gear on the end of the motor is not so easy.
Dayton, which is made for Grainger by another company named something like Moulin?? Won't just sell the DC motor.
Does anyone know of a DC motor with a gear that will fit?
Or does anyone know where to get different sized gears and how to attach them onto the end? Most of them look like they were pressed or glued on, I am not sure.
Or, anyone had any luck fixing these? I tried to replace the brushes but they were so small and were mounted on some unique plastic frame and it didn't work out.
Or is there a good replacement that will last longer then a year?
I am thinking of putting in a AC motor.
Thanks
Russ
